In screenwriting
My students include an Austin Film Festival Winner for Best Comedy Screenplay; and a Nicholls Fellowship Semi-Finalist. I’ve consulted for NBC-Universal, coaching writers and developing content—with protégées that include writers of Two Broke Girl$, Burn Notice, and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. For seven years I worked in development at HBO Pictures—on outstanding material including, the Golden Globe Winners: Introducing Dorothy Dandridge with Oscar Winner actress Halle Berry and Don King: Only In America with Golden Globe Winner Ving Rhames. I know what it takes to make a good script great, and help writers make the jump from exercises in spec scripts to paid deals.
In the field of journalism
Not only have I penned numerous articles; with work published in: Santa Monica Daily Press, Creative Screenwriting Magazine, Malibu Times Magazine, Music Scene Magazine, Music & Mayhem Magazine, but also I have held the position of Editor-in-Chief of two monthly print magazines, University Link Magazine; a 100-page glossy catering to the college demographic and Westside Today —five monthly magazines serving the West Side of Los Angeles. For my journalism, branding and marketing portfolio please see: Taylor’s Portfolio
As a novelist
My manuscript Skeeter was optioned by the award-winning production company Tool of North America to be developed into a feature film. I have ghosted work for prestigious doctors, artists and established writers on: memoirs, “How To” books and works of fiction and non-fiction. As a screenwriter, my commissioned adaptations include the New York Times Bestseller A Conspiracy of Paper by David Liss, and Broken—from the manuscript by author J. Matthew Nespoli.
